Four Corners Development Project Update
Posted on Oct 4th, 2023
SHOA would like to notify you of the most recent development on an issue that has been very near and dear to so many of you for several years. SHOA President, Terry Stroud, received a call from Mr. Bruce Tyler from Baskervill who represents Urban Generation Living [UGL] and Mr. Stuart Cantor. This is the team that has been working to develop the Four Corners project. In short, Mr. Tyler notified SHOA that the UGL/Four Corners project will not go forward. There were items that became known as they continued with their discussions which made the project unfeasible.
It appears that the Salisbury Corporation will now place the property back on the market with the hope of finding a new developer who will purchase and improve the property. There have been several individuals who stated their opinion about using the space as a community-based area. SHOA supports that thought. However, SHOA is not in the real estate development business, nor do we have the bandwidth to operate a property that large. If there are individuals who want to serve in that capacity now is the time to step forward and be involved. We will provide any assistance needed to introduce individuals to the correct parties.
SHOA would like to thank the respective groups that were involved in this process. Mr. Tyler, Baskervill, Stuart Cantor and UGL met twice with our community and integrated many of our comments into their plans. The community input and UGL’s willingness to listen and implement changes made the final plans a much better project. SHOA and the Salisbury community were deeply involved and provided timely input and expertise to the entire process. Chesterfield County Supervisors Miller and Haley, Commissioner Petroski, and other individuals were strategically involved and felt strongly that Salisbury’s interests were solicited and integrated into the project. The overall project was vastly improved due to this team effort. SHOA thanks each of the respective players for their commitment to the community.
SHOA is Salisbury’s voice and leads all efforts to monitor and impact projects such as the Four Corners development and other significant community events. Your membership is essential to SHOA being able to continue this important work.
